TTU Student Charged With Sexual Exploitation Of A Minor

Cookeville Police arrested a foreign national Tennessee Tech student on Thursday for charges of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.

An arrest warrant accuses Tatsushi Shibata of downloading three videos containing pre-pubescent females engaging in sexual activity.

Authorities located the videos while conducting a search warrant last month. Shibata has allegedly admitted to downloading the videos to an electronic device belonging to an IP address on E. 6th Street.

The 24-year-old Shibata remains behind bars with a court date scheduled for October 7. He has not yet posted his $750,000 bond.
