TTU Adding New Engineering, Counseling Programs In 2020

Tennessee Tech will implement new engineering and counseling programs beginning in 2020.

University officials made the announcement via a press release Friday.

Beginning next year, students can pursue a Masters of Science in Engineering Management or a doctorate in counseling and supervision.

According to the release, the counseling program will provide currently licensed and/or licensure eligible mental health professional and school guidance counselors with instruction in advanced therapeutic techniques.

Meanwhile, Masters of Science in Engineering Management will be an interdisciplinary program using Tennessee Tech’s colleges of business and engineering.

Tennessee Tech’s Board of Trustees approved the programs last fall prior to THEC’s decision. The engineering program had initially been slated to begin this fall before being pushed back to 2020.
