A 21-year-old Cookeville man faces a failure to exercise due care charge following a Friday afternoon crash.
The two-vehicle accident happened on Highway 111 in Overton County.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol said Lance Jackson was traveling South behind a Toyota Corolla, driven by 46-year-old Lisa Barve of Algood. A crash report said Jackson’s Chevrolet Camaro rear-ended Barve’s vehicle when she began slowing down to make a left turn into the crossover.
The impact sent Barve’s Corolla into the median. Jackson’s vehicle came to a rest on the inside shoulder of the highway.
Barve suffered injuries, along with two of her passengers indentified as 74-year-old Georgia Lipke of Algood and 52-year-old Timothy Proctor of Algood.
Jackson did not sustain any injuries during the crash.
