Threatening Email Forces Lockdown At White County Middle School

A lockdown occurred at White County Middle School Tuesday due to a threatening email.

A press release said someone sent the email from the school to the email chain of White County Schools. Director of Schools Kurt Dronebarger said quick action from teachers and administrators helped identify the suspects within minutes.

“Although these situations are alarming, I want to assure you that White County schools are doing everything in our power to keep our campuses safe,” Dronebarger said. “Please use this opportunity to talk with your child about the seriousness of such communication and to discuss any problems they might be having with which we might be able to help.”

The release noted that law enforcement took custody of the suspects. Sheriff Steve Page said the investigation remains ongoing at this time.

The investigation found no credible threat and the school day continued as normal, Dronebarger said.
