The Tennessee Highway Patrol has helped locate an airplane stolen from Jackson County earlier this year.
A THP press release said State Trooper Jeff Phann recovered the aircraft in Putnam County last week. Officials did not provide the location of where the recovery took place.
THP’s Criminal Investigations Division (CID) began assisting the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) with a burglary report in July. Items stolen during the incident included an unregistered or unknown registration aircraft.
The release said Phann found the aircraft thanks to a coordinated effort with the Tennessee Department of Revenue and JCSO. Officials said it might be the first stolen airplane recovery for the THP’s CID.
The investigation remains ongoing as investigators continue to follow up on additional leads.
