This Week: Pandhandling Public Hearing, Exam Waiver

The Overton County Commission will elect and appoint a chairman Monday night.

The commission will meet at 5:00 p.m. The donation of surplus police supplies and vehicles will also be up for approval.

The Fentress County Board of Education will consider contracting an attorney for the school board when they meet Monday after a work session at 5:30.

Byrdstown Board of Alderman will hear a report from city engineer Nathaniel Green. The towns sewer and water policies will also be revised Monday night.

Tuesday, the Crossville City Council will meet in a special called session to discuss CARES Act funding for the city’s airport.

Wednesday, Van Buren Board of Education will vote for the approval to waive attendance requirements for semester exams due to COVID-19.

The city of Cookeville will hold a public hearing on the ordinance, nicknamed the panhandling ordinance. The ordinance prohibits commerce on sidewalks, right-of-ways, and streets. The public hearing will be held at the Cookeville Performing Arts Center beginning at 5:30pm.
