This Week: Livingston Hears Hotel/Motel Tax Ordinance, Fentress Begins Town Hall Series

This week in the Upper Cumberland the Livingston Board of Aldermen will consider an ordinance regarding hotel/motel tax.

City Attorney John Meadows will address the board and share details at Tuesday’s meeting. Board members will also here a request from a resident to purchase an alley on Evans Street.

Residents can attend a public hearing at 5:50 p.m. regarding two zoning changes and an update to the city charter. Official business begins at 6:00 p.m. at city hall.

The White County School Board will gather at White County Middle School on Tuesday. Committee meetings will begin at 5:00 p.m. with the regular meeting to follow at 6:00 p.m.

Monterey Board of Aldermen have scheduled its meeting to Tuesday due to Labor Day. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. at city hall.

Thursday, the Fentress County Commission will begin a series of town hall meetings for the community. County Executive Jimmy Johnson said discussions will be driven by the public and expects topics like county spending and raises to be mentioned.

The first of the four weekly meetings will begin at 6:00 p.m. at Pine Haven Elementary School.
