This Week: Cookeville Work Session, Algood Seeks Public Input For Park

This week in the Upper Cumberland features a chance for you to comment in Algood.

The City of Algood will hold an open town hall on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall. Officials are seeking public input on the system wide master park plan. The city is opening bids for the first phase of the future park next month.

Wednesday, the Putnam County Election Commission will meet for its regular monthly meeting. Business begins at 8:30 at County Services Drive.

A public hearing will take place in Sparta on Thursday. Residents will be able to voice concerns of the proposed tax rate for next fiscal year. The tax rate is expected to stay the same at about 91 cents. The public is invited to attend at Sparta City Hall at 5:00 p.m.

Baxter will also come together again on Thursday for a bid opening for its Community Development Block Grant project. The city will be looking for low bids to conduct camera on half of the sewer system.

Cumberland County Commission will have a budget committee meeting Thursday.
