Contractors will begin resurfacing part of I-40 in Cumberland County next week.
A statement from TDOT indicates the project will span nearly five miles from mile-marker 306 to 311 with contractors working on the project between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Speeds along that stretch of the interstate will be reduced to 60 mph with work expecting to wrap-up in August.
Lane closures with assistance from the Tennessee Highway Patrol will take place while construction is underway.
