An Overton County resident remains hospitalized for injuries sustained during a shootout with Warren County deputies Monday.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has identified the man as 66-year-old Charles Ray Bean.
Officials with the Overton County Sheriff’s Office said Bean fled to Warren County after setting fire to at least two structures in Monday morning.
A TBI press release said Warren County authorities spotted Bean’s vehicle and a brief pursuit began before he turned onto C Rody Road and opened fire on officers.
Bean suffered injuries and received treatment at a Chattanooga hospital. Officials said none of the officers suffered injuries during the incident.
