Hazardous Household Waste Drop-Off At Overton Fairgrounds Saturday

Putnam Solid Waste Center Paving Bid Prices Meet Expectations

Putnam County has opened bids for repaving at four solid waste convenience centers. Solid Waste Director Doug Ashburn said prices came in where he expected, with a $155,000 price tag. McMinnville River Cleanup Taking On Tons Of Trash

Registration is open for the McMinnville Breakfast Rotary Club’s 14th annual river ride and cleanup at Pepper Branch Park on Saturday. Van Buren Approves Fee For Commercial Solid Waste Haulers

Commercial haulers of solid waste will be charged 3 cents per pound at Van Buren County convenience centers. This was approved by county commissioners during Tuesday night’s commission meeting. Jackson County Signs 5-Year Solid Waste Contract With Smith County

Jackson County accepted a new solid waste contract Monday night after its agreement with the Moss landfill expired. Mayor Randy Heady said costs were going up $12 a ton and other offers were one-year contracts at over $40 dollars a ton. The Van Buren County Budget Committee approved a five cents per pound charge on commercial haulers to take waste into the county. The Jackson Street Convenience Center project is 20 to 25 percent complete.
