September sales tax receipts grew by 12.7 percent across Putnam County over this same time last year. Some $4.9 million dollars collected compared to $4.3 million. September was a big month for building construction in Putnam county with 49 permits for $8.2 million. Overton County’s Carr Creek Bridge project will break ground Tuesday. The new federally funded concrete bridge will stretch 220 feet with an expected April completion date.
