Jackson County Mayor Randy Heady says the theft of over $25,000 dollars by the former County Clerk was a regrettable mistake. Jackson EMS Proposes Bonus For COVID Work

The Jackson County Budget Committee is considering giving full-time EMS workers an $800 bonus for COVID-19 work. EMS Director Keith Bean brought the proposal to the committee at its meeting Thursday night. The total cost for the bonuses set at $9,600 dollars. That’s for the 12 employees working in EMS. Jackson County Clerk Amanda Ward Stafford has resigned her office effective May 8. Guardrail work will begin on State Route 85 through Jackson County Monday. The road may be reduced to one-lane this week at various points as workers repair and replace guardrails from the Smith County line to State Route 56.
