Putnam Construction Permits Slow Due To Material Costs

Building material costs have finally slowed down Putnam County construction permits. Mayor Randy Porter said July saw 26 permits for $3.3 million in construction costs, nine being single family homes. Porter said that last July had 44 permits for $6.1 million. UC Realtors Association Indicating Strong Housing Market

The average price of a sold home in Putnam County has increased by about $80,000 since 2019. Upper Cumberland Realtors Association President Kathy Dunn said that makes the current average $287,000.
