A 53-year-old Cookeville woman died in a head-on collision Tuesday between Gainesboro and Baxter. The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports Penny Maxwell died when the vehicle she was driving was struck by a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Tiffany Gaw of Baxter. The Town of Gainesboro passed the first reading of a two percent increase of the town’s Water and Sewer rate Thursday night.
