Jackson County Sees Widespread Outages, Treacherous Back Roads.

Jackson County is experiencing countywide outages and treacherous conditions on back roads. Mayor Randy Heady said his biggest concern are the residents without power or back up heat. Emergency Action Taken For Gainesboro Water Leak

A major water leak in Gainesboro will require emergency repairs after a two week search for the damage. During Thursday’s Board of Alderman meeting, members approved the estimated $100,000 project. Jackson County Teachers Receiving $500 Bonus

A one-time teacher bonus worth $500 unanimously approved by the Jackson County School Board Thursday night. Director of Schools Kristy Brown said they were able to cover this bonus after receiving $85,000 in grant reimbursements for things already budgeted and purchased. Gainesboro And Thrift Store Come To An Agreement On Storefront

The city of Gainesboro and owners of the Real Deal Thrift Store have came to a verbal agreement to keep the store front more presentable. The city reportedly received several complaints from residents about the store’s merchandise sitting outdoors in the past. Jackson County Schools approved a work-based learning opportunity for high school seniors to help with cafeteria duties, created by the pandemic.
