Cookeville Police Officer Andrew Gibbs named Officer of the Year for 2021. Chief Randy Evans said the department received only one nomination, and it was somewhat unanimous across the department. A Cookeville man has been charged with murdering his fiancée after she was found dead in her 12th Street apartment over the weekend. Cookeville Man Arrested For Fatal Nashville Shooting

A Cookeville man has been arrested in connection to a December 2020 shooting in Nashville on Tuesday. The Cookeville Police Department arrested 31 year-old Walter Clyde Jones for allegedly shooting 40 year-old David Lamont Jordan at his home in North Nashville.
