T-DOT Preparing For Two Paving Projects In Overton County

T-DOT is preparing for repaving projects on Highway 111 and Highway 52 in Overton County.

T-DOT Spokesperson Rae-Anne Bradley said Highway 111 will also get new traffic loops and improved curb ramps. Bradley said that between September 19 through October 31 drivers will need to be cautious while travelling on Highway 111.

“Drivers travelling this route at night should expect lane closures in each direction,” Bradley said. “Drivers travelling during the day on State Route 111 should not encounter any delays but will be travelling on a milled asphalt surface for a few weeks.”

Bradley said that Highway 111 work will take place from 7:00 PM until 6:00 AM.

“The contractor will install all new traffic loops on State Route 111 to interface with the existing traffic signals along the route,” Bradley said. “The contractor will also install all new curb iron and bring curb ramps up to the distinct standards.”

She said Highway 52 work will be during the day.

“Work on State Route 52 will occur during the day but outside of school hours to limit any potential traffic impact,” Bradley said. “Drivers should expect to encounter a lane closure with flaggers to facilitate traffic control. Upon completion of this project drivers will see new asphalt throughout pavement markers and striping that will enhance both routes and improve safety and visibility throughout.”

She said the Highway 111 work will take place from south of East Volunteer Drive to Highway 294. Bradley said Highway 52 work will go from near Highway 111 to north of Highway 85.
