Sparta wants to continue sewer rehabilitation with this year’s CDBG application.
City Administrator Brad Hennessee said Bockman Way has been identified as a high priority area.
“We’re hoping to get the sewer camera immediately, and our plans are to start in that area and work our way to the plant from there,” Hennessee said. “We’ll have a better feel for where we actually stand once we have that sewer camera in place.”
Hennessee said sewer along Bockman Way has been partially rehabbed from previous grants. Hennessee said the city wants to continue by starting at the Butler Street intersection to the Calfkiller River Bridge, and then go south to the sewer plant.
Hennessee said the city has made good progress over the past several years with the goal to fully rehab the sewer system. Over $600,000 is available through the grant application.
