Sparta will look for other options to repair one garbage truck.
Public Works Director Dillard Quick said the department planned for the repair last year.
“We got it in the budget this year for one of the sidearm trucks to have the rail replaced. The price came back like $46,000 and that’s not in our budget,” Quick said. “So Pierre and I are going to go take the truck down to Chattanooga.”
Quick said the repair group can give the city a better idea of the cost.
“To get a price on the repairs for the sidearm to not so much rebuild it, but to get it to where it is not going to give us any trouble,” Quick said. “So like I said, we are going to do that in the next couple of weeks.”
Quick discussed the repair during the city’s Board of Aldermen and Mayor meeting last week.
