Sparta Decides Against Rebidding Sewer Plan

The Sparta City Council voted 4-3 Thursday night to move forward with the accepted bid on the sewer rehab project.

At issue: an entry error by one of the bidders recently discovered for the 2018 proposal. That led several council members at the Council’s March meeting to ask that the 2018 project be rebid.

Several council members said Thursday night it is simply to move on with the project.

The bid originally went to Crossvile’s Norris Brothers Excavating. The price tag just under $404,000. Sparta-based John T. Hall Construction and a Tullahoma company missed out on the bid.
