Soup Kitchen Fundraiser To Benefit Homeless

The Soup Kitchen Fundraiser benefiting the Cookeville Rescue Mission will take place Saturday at Cookeville’s Leslie Town Centre.

“This is aimed to help the homeless in our community. There’s no doubt that we’ve seen an increase from people coming in who are homeless from the surrounding areas,” Cookeville Rescue Mission Vice President of Operations Luke Eldridge said.

Eldridge said the event will have unlimited soup and a live auction. Auction items include game tickets to the Tennessee Titans, University of Tennessee football, and Nashville Predators. Other items include a hand crafted chess board and donated items from the estate of Tennessee Tech’s first librarian.

Tickets are $20 a person or $150 for a reserved table. The Soup Kitchen Fundraiser will begin at 6:00 p.m.

Last year the event raised $9,000 for the Cookeville Rescue Mission.
