A Cumberland County judge has sentenced a registered sex offender to prison for violating the sex offender registry.
47-year-old James Lee Quarry will serve one-year behind bars. His violation happened last month when Crossville Police found him at the Obed River Park.
A police report said officers arrested Quarry due to the likelihood that persons under the age of 18-years-old would be present in the area.
A judge ordered Quarry to register as a sex offender following his 1993 conviction for rape. The state’s sex offender registry database classifies the man as violent against children.
