A road connecting Crossville and Spring City will open to one lane traffic on Saturday, May 12.
TDOT worked on the section of SR-68 near log mile 5 in Rhea County after a slide in April.
Only light traffic can use the road, including school buses, cars, and pick-up trucks.
Heavy commercial vehicles cannot drive on the road.
A temporary traffic signal will maintain traffic control.
TDOT crews will continue to reinforce and stabilize the road. TDOT said they hope to eventually open the road to two-lane traffic again.
Drivers should be patient as they work to reopen the road and watch out for workers, TDOT said.
