Report Of Gun Puts Algood School On Lockdown Wednesday

Algood Elementary School conducted a brief lockdown Wednesday after the city police department received a call about a male subject with a gun in the car line.

According to a written statement from the Algood Police Department, the caller told dispatch that the male subject pointed the gun at a female in the same vehicle.

Algood PD arrived within moments of the call and located the male. Officers determined that the gun was actually a Nerf gun and no one was in danger.

Police department officials said the male subject’s actions were inappropriate, but no harm was intended.
