Reels And Wiggins Running For Mayor In Monterey

Monterey Mayor Bill Wiggins may have some opposition as he seeks another two-year term this year.

Ward 2 Alderman J.J. Reels has picked up qualifying papers to challenge Wiggins. Reels and Wiggins have until April 2 to turn in those qualifying papers to the election commission office.

In addition to the mayoral race, The August 6 ballot will include four seats on the board of aldermen. Ward 1 Alderman Dale Welch, Ward 3 Alderman James Foster, Ward 2 Alderman Mark Farley, and Ward 4 Alderman Charles Looper have four-year terms expiring this year.

Former alderwoman Amy Martin has picked up qualifying papers to run for the Ward 1 seat. James Foster and James Wolfgram have picked up papers to run for the Ward 3 seat.
