Though he hoped it would not happen, Clay County’s first COVID-19 case did not surprise County Mayor Dale Reagan.
“We knew we would probably be having some you know, when they were they started ramping up the testing and stuff,” Reagan said. “This is a troubling and trying time for not just here, but for for our nation.”
The Tennessee Department Of Health reported Clay County’s first case Wednesday. The region total stands at 60.
Reagan said COVID-19 testing continues through the Clay County Health Department. In addition, county officials continue to take all the necessary precautions for COVID-19.
” I can’t iterated enough that, you know, we need to continue to pray,” Reagan said.
Jackson, Pickett and Van Buren Counties have yet to report a COVID-19 case.
