Putnam County high school seniors and their families will receive a survey Thursday to consider options for graduation and celebrations.
Director Of Schools Corby King said the replies will help the system plan these important events. King said no activities have been cancelled and he earlier set May 1 as the deadline for decisions on proms and graduations.
“This is crazy difficult for them,” King said. “But you’re also thinking about like our eighth graders who were transitioning to school. This is just hard.”
Those are just the first two of many questions to be answered after Governor Bill Lee encouraged all systems to keep facilities closed the rest of the year. King asked parents to be patient.
“Whether it be grading, how they’re going to get their stuff from schools, picking up annuals, if they have personal items in their lockers, things like that, we’re going to be sending all of that information over the next several days,” King said. “We’re going to stay in communication with them. So just be patient and give us some time and we’ll send information out and shot within a week or two.”
