Putnam Schools Rebidding Work For Upperman High Baseball Field

Putnam County School System will revisit work to fix flooding issues for Upperman High School’s baseball fields.

The school board previously rejected a $330,000 bid to explore more economical routes. Deputy Director Tim Martin:

“While some of those people were out there looking at the field, they felt like maybe we could scale that back but still try to fix those drainage issues,” Martin said. “So that’s what we’re going to try to do.”

Martin said the changes include less drainage work, and will focus more on top dressing and seeding different types of grass. He said that would still address drainage issues with less invasive work.

Martin said the system is set to open bids next week for the new project scope. He said in regards to cost, he expects those bids to come back significantly cheaper than before.
