Putnam School Board Approves Bid For Upperman HS Roof Replacement

Putnam County Schools awarded a $3.8 million bid to replace the Upperman High School roof.

Director of Schools Corby King said the project should be completed in about 18 months.

“That’s something that was just next on the list,” King said. “With the county commission, we’re fortunately able to roll that into the ESSER funding, so we’ve been able to take that off the county commission, general budget and the tax payers. It will be part of the expansion project moving forward.”

King said the new roof coincides with four additional classrooms, a multi-purpose room and a chorus room. King said it is a massive project that the school system is excited to start.
