Putnam Fourth Of July Events Highlighted On State Website

The State Department of Tourism promoting Putnam County as a multi-night stay for the Fourth of July weekend.

Putnam County Visitors Bureau Tourism Director Shan Stout said Monterey’s Freedom Fest and Cookeville’s Red, White and Boom are highlighted on the state’s website.

‘We appreciate all that the Tennessee Department of Tourism is doing to support our events to help people not just come in for one or two days, but planning a whole week,” Stout said.

The events are included on tnvacation’s “Tennessee Rocks July 4 Celebrations” trip finder. Stout said the support will be a big boost for tourism dollars. Stout said with the second largest firework show in the state and several free events in between, the county is the place to be for the holiday.

“Just having their support is really just a shot in the arm for our tourism efforts and then, those sales tax dollars help everybody,” Stout said. “
