Putnam County continues to see record setting trends when it comes to issuing residential permits.
Mayor Porter reported Wednesday the county issued over 900 permits for single family homes since 2015.
“This does not include the housing stats inside our four cities. If you add those, we total over 1,700 new homes since January 2015,” Porter said.
Between 2017 and 2019, single family construction hovered between $41.9 million and $42.38 million. Porter said new construction led to 208 new homes in 2017, 192 in 2018, and 186 last year.
Porter did note permits for December 2019 were down as expected with 13 permits issued for $1.5 million. So far this fiscal year, Putnam County has permitted 97 new homes.
