The Sheriff’s Department has charged a Putnam County man with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
An officer conducted surveillance of Jason Brett Franklin, 34, on June 12. The officer followed Franklin to 660 N Willow Ave.
The report said the officer witnessed two drug transactions. The affiant approached Franklin on the third transaction and saw a hand to hand drug transfer.
The officer detained Franklin and a K9 alerted on the vehicle.
The officer found 38 grams of Meth, 15 Oxycodone and 32 Alprazolam in the vehicle. The report said, the vehicle also had a digital scale and clear plastic baggies. Franklin had two loaded handguns in his vehicle.
Putnam County Sheriff’s Department also charged Franklin with possession of a firearm during a felony.
According to the report, Franklin had multiple text messages arranging the drug transactions on his phone.
Franklin’s bail has been posted.
