The new buyer of Cumberland River Hospital in Celina also has plans to purchase Jamestown Regional Medical Center.
Johnny Presley announced his $1 million offer to Rennova Health Systems on Wednesday.
JRMC Chief Executive Officer Michael Alexander said he’s notified Rennova’s Board of Directors about Presley’s request.
“We are working hard to try to reopen as quickly as possible. Whatever happens, whoever purchases it, or if Rennova keeps it, there’s a process that has to go through,” Alexander said. “It just won’t happen quickly, but we are diligently working. It’s our intention that Rennova owns the hospital and intends to reopen.”
JRMC closed after the Center for Medicaid and Medicare terminated services to the hospital two months ago. Alexander said the hospital applied to reactivate those services last month.
“We got notification on Monday that the application was accepted. It will now go to their regional office for review,” Alexander said. “We’re trying to do the things we can do to prepare and be ready for action when we get the green light to move ahead.”
Depending on the location, residents have to travel to Cookeville Regional Medical Center, Livingston Regional Hospital, or Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville for an emergency room.
