Power issues remain across the Upper Cumberland after Monday’s freezing rain with crews back at it as sunrise approaches.
More than 13,000 Upper Cumberland Electric customers are without power as of Tuesday morning. Crews are dealing with downed lines and poles as well as falling trees. Putnam County Emergency Management reports the outages could take as long as 24 hours to repair in Putnam County.
Outages stretch from Algood to Baxter. Among those areas impacted in Putnam County: Buck Mountain, Gainesboro Grade, Shipley Rd, Dodson Branch Rd, Wolf Creek, Silver Point, Poplar Flatt & Love Valley.
A shelter opened late Monday night at First Baptist Church to assist those without power.
UCEMC reports outages all across Overton County Tuesday morning.
UCEMC outages in Jackson County are impacting Bethel Palk, Shepardsville, East Hill Rd, Mal Allen, Landmark, Roaring River, Brady Ln, Indian Creek, Trace Creek, Whites Bend, Wade Subdivision, Seven Knobs, Dudney Hill and Morrison Creek. UCEMC Carthage reporting outages in the Lancaster area, Nabors Hollow, Hackett Valley, Dale Ridge, and Pea Ridge.
As of 5am Tuesday, 1665 Volunteer Energy customers are without power in Fentress County. 630 Pickett County customers of Volunteer Energy without power.
Pickett County officials opened the Ag Building Monday night for those needing a warm place to stay. The building has tables, chairs, a stove and microwave.
Caney Fork Electric crews will return to the field around 6am Tuesday morning to deal with outages across Dekalb, Van Buren, Warren and White Counties.
Cookeville Electric has restored most homes to power as of Monday night. The City Of Cookeville is dealing with a 6″ water main break on South Jefferson Avenue near Arby’s. Crews are trying to fix the break, but businesses in that area may be without water.
