Portion Of Old Walton Road Closed For Sewer Project Starting Monday

City of Algood will close Old Walton Road between Middleford Road and Arbor Place for sewer work.

City Administrator Keith Morrison said the city will replace the Brookside Station and put new sewer lines to Old Walton Circle, Arbor Place, and Oak Haven.

“And we’re fixing to enter Old Walton Road to crossover into Arbor Place and Oak Haven so we’ve got to do some road closures to dig across the roads,” Morrison said. “And set manholes and begin extending that project into that subdivision.”

Morrison said the is a significant amount of traffic that runs through this area. He said crews are trying to speed the project up to avoid getting involved with school traffic.

Morrison said the portion of road will be closed between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. from July 10th to July 28th. He said drivers will need to seek alternate routes during that time period.

“Now the residents that live in those subdivisions can still go in and out, they’ll just have to deal with some of the construction,” Morrison said.

Morrison said they ask for the public’s patience as they try to expedite the process.
