Authorities have identified a Maryville man as part of a death investigation after he was found unresponsive near Tennessee Tech Friday evening.
Cookeville Police report 23-year-old Paul Hamilton Ten Eyck of Maryville was unresponsive when police arrived on the scene. Ten Eyck was given CPR and transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center where he later died.
Tennessee Tech officials have said Ten Eyck was not a student at the university. The school has since ceased operations of its local chapter of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity Monday following Ten Eyck’s death.
Cookeville Police reports the incident occurred at 68 West 5th Street, the location of the fraternity’s house.
The investigation remains ongoing as an autopsy report is still pending for an official cause of death. Initial statements from CPD indicated the death was likely not caused by foul play.
