Plateau Women’s Chorus Taking Auditions For Fall Season After Last Year’s Hiatus

Crossville’s Plateau Women’s Chorus is taking auditions for new members as the fall season approaches.

Founder and Artistic Director Dana Beal said that the group is ready to come together after last year’s hiatus.

“It’s a joyful, supportive, wonderful group of ladies,” Beal said. “They’re just really great to each other and positive. I just can’t say enough about how excited we are. Everybody is just so thrilled that we’re getting back.”

Beal said the audition process is simple and open to any woman who is a lover of music.

“We just meet for a brief, informal audition to make sure that our chorus is a good fit for the person that’s interested,” Beal said. “It is a women’s chorus, so it’s four-part women. We sing classical, and we sing pop, and we sing jazz and everything in-between.”

Beal said that her favorite part of the chorus is that it provides a different means of communication, through music.

“It’s maybe not something we can express openly, verbally maybe as writers or artists,” Beal said. “But singing is a way to say things to the world that maybe you have no other avenue for expressing.”

The group accepts women aged 14 and up. To audition, contact Dana Beal at (305) 393-2278.
