Plat Approved For 49 Lots in Cookeville

The Cookeville Planning Commission has approved the final plat for a 49 lot subdivision.

Senior planner Ken Young said the project at McCulley Road and Springboro Road began nearly ten years ago under a different developer.

“It went through a significant rezoning to go from RS-20 to RS-10,” Young said. “When that was approved, the developer at the time had agreed to do some road improvements to McCulley (Road), which has been done. He had to buy another piece of property on Springboro to get a second way in and out because he’s got 49 single-family detached lots. He did all that.”

About a year ago, Fisk Development Group purchased the lot from the previous developer. Young said the site has changed dramatically since that time.

“The roads are in through the base stage. The curbs and all of the utilities are in. They’re going to do new sidewalks along the interior of all the new streets,” Young said. “This has been a long time coming for us.”

The Cookeville Planning Commission unanimously approved the final plat during Monday’s meeting.

Youg said the approval is subject to the developers completing stormwater stabilization.
