PCSS Looking To Add More Audio Enhancement Equipment Into Classrooms

Putnam County Schools looking to implement new audio enhancement equipment in classrooms across the district.

Deputy Director Tim Martin said a teacher would wear a mic on a lanyard and have speakers throughout the classroom.

“We’ve been looking at some research for classrooms that show us the more clearly you can be heard, the better kids learn,” Martin said. “So we’re looking at some of these systems to put into the classrooms.”

Martin said there is already some audio equipment in place because there are students with difficulty hearing. He said they are looking to improve those systems and add additional ones throughout the district.

Martin said the system will spend some $250,000. He said they will use some remaining ESSER funds to purchase the equipment.

“We don’t have a set timeline of implementation,” Martin said. “We’ll get with the administration at the schools and hear from teachers about where these will best be suited.”
