An Overton County Commission seat vacancy has been filled, however it left a new seat open in District Five.
The District One seat, formerly held by Jean Moore will be filled by Commission Lee Richards. Richards served District Five, but has moved into District One. Richards submitted his resignation from District Five to the county, creating a new opening.
He will serve District One, which includes Livingston, until August 31, 2022 when the term is up. Richards said he will continue the work he has done in District Five, continuing to vote in the best interest of the county.
The District Five opening will be advertised and filled by the Overton County Commission during its August meeting.
District Five represents the Hilham-Fairgrounds community.
