Officer Locates Meth, Pills, $20,000 Cash During Traffic Stop

A Cookeville man faces charges after police found a variety of drugs and a large quantity of money during a traffic stop.

Cookeville Police charged Brian Matthew Horn with possession of a controlled substance and manufacture, delivery, or sale of methamphetamine.

Officer Ben Dukes came in contact with Horn after conducting a traffic stop for a window tint violation on Friday. An arrest report said Dukes detected an odor of marijuana and received consent to search the vehicle.

The report said the search yielded $20,000 cash in the trunk behind a panel and $1,811 in Horn’s possession. In addition, Dukes allegedly located a magnetic box under the passenger seat containing 3.8 ounces of meth and several white, pink, and yellow pills.

The arrest report noted that Horn has at least four pending drug charges in Putnam County. He left the Putnam County Jail after posting $11,000 bond.
