October A big Month For Building Permits In Putnam

Putnam County issued more building permits in October than in any other month this fiscal year.

Mayor Randy Porter said the county issued 37-permits for a total estimated construction cost of $4.46 million.

“19 of those permits were for new single family homes, which gives a total of 75 new homes in the past 120 days or this fiscal year,” Porter said.

October tallied 11 more permits than September and nine more than July and August.

The county has issued 119 permits this fiscal year for a total estimated construction cost of $16.2 million. This time last year, the county had 136-permits issued.
