Nostrom Guilty In Cumberland Bus Garage Murder Of Two

A Cumberland County jury found Warren Nostrom guilty Thursday on two counts of first degree premeditated murder.

The 76-year-old man convicted in the death of Joy J. Nostrom and Mark Gunter. The two shot to death at the Cumberland County Schools Bus garage in September, 2018. Nostrom sentenced to a life in prison, or a minimum of 51 years in jail under Tennessee law.

Investigators said Nostrom approached his estranged wife Joy and her friend at the bus garage, upset about the relationship between the two. The 76-year-old man reportedly tried to shoot himself, but survived the gunshot to the head.

He was ruled competent to stand trial earlier this summer.
