New Park View Interior 99 Percent Complete

With just over a month until school starts, the interior of the new Park View School is 99 percent complete.

Upland Design Group Consultant Kim Chamberlin told the Putnam County School Board Thursday night that furniture came in on time and without a hitch. He said much of it was even moved into classrooms more quickly than expected. He said a punch list has been put together for the exterior as well.

“They’re still doing a lot of site work at this point,” Chamberlin said. “The paving in the back behind our surface is down and then we’re starting this week on getting the front in shape as well. When you drive by, it looks a little bit worse than it really is, but right now, everything still appears to be on track.”

Chamberlin said contractors are working out of a few mechanical and electrical closets, but the rest of the interior punch list has been checked off. He said the he expects the facility to be ready within 30 days.

“Weather’s been very cooperative,” Chamberlin said. “I guess we kind of wish we would get a little bit more rain for other reasons, but the contractor’s pretty happy about it at the moment. So, like I said, no real issues that I’m aware of.”
