More Than 9300 Schools Meals Served Thursday

The Putnam County Schools Nutrition Program served more than 9,300 meals to students through the Grab and Go program Thursday.

“We need families to take advantage of this,” Interim Director Of Schools Corby King said. “We know it’s a resource that’s helpful to them.”

The meals are free and are available to any student under 18, even those that do not attend a Putnam County School. Federal and state guidelines require the student be present.

A total of 12 schools are serving the breakfast and lunches each day. Bus transportation is also available to families who need meals delivered.

King said the program will last for the duration of the school closing due to COVID-19.
