The UCHRA’s Public Transportation Division will upgrade its transportation management system next month.
Director of Transportation Holly Montooth said the change to “Ecolane” will create a more efficient, streamlined experience for riders. Montooth said riders will be allowed to customize their experience to create optimized routes and schedules.
“By merging these services, we’re striving to create a seamless journey for the passengers where booking rides and accessing transportation options become simpler than ever,” Montooth said.
Montooth said currently UCHRA uses several different systems to manage the experience. All UCHRA transportation options will switch to the new system, except the “Go Route” system. Driver training will take place from November 6-9.
Montooth said drivers will be exposed to two-hour sessions that they can select out of eight different daily timeslots.
“We know how important training is,” Montooth said. “With anything new, it can be scary. So we’re trying to present as many opportunities for driver training as we can.”
The company serves more than 300,000 transportation providers worldwide according to its website. Montooth said she expects a few bumps in the road during the transition to the new system.
“If there’s any way that we could let the people know that change is always difficult and to be patient,” Montooth said. “We’re going to be better at the end once we make it through this.”
