Monterey High student Anderson Jiguan became the 100,000th Putnam County student to earn a career certification in the system’s history.
Jiguan received a Center for Financial Responsibility Personal Financial Literacy Certification. The honor came from iCEV, a leading producer of CTE curriculum, testing and data management. CEO Dusty Moore said the recognition marks Putnam County’s leadership in the CTE field.
Putnam County Schools certified more than 1,500 students during last school year.
“It’s important that we provide equal access to all of our students,” CTE Program Director Jackie Vester said. “We want to make sure all of our students are leaving with the tools they need to be college and career-ready.”
The certifications include students at Cookeville, Monterey and Upperman High Schools as well as the VITAL School.
