Monterey Looking For Residential Input In New Video Project

Monterey is looking for residents to be a part of the town’s new video project.

The town is accepting 10 to 15 second videos that capture locals enjoying the natural areas and small businesses of the community. Cultural Administrator Rafferty Cleary said the clips will be included in a final video package that will be posted on multiple town platforms.

“Fishing at Meadow Creek. Them walking along the rail trail. Them at the overlook at Bee Rock,” Cleary said. “We are wanting them to share those videos with us.”

Residents have until May 24th to submit their clips. Cleary said the goal is to pair the marketing videos with the town’s new brand and logo to bring in more tourism.

“We will be spending additional dollars that are budgeted for the upcoming fiscal year, significant increase in dollars for marketing purposes,” Cleary said. “We’re going to be launching a new tourism centered website for our town, so this is just one of those things that made sense.”

Cleary said Cookeville Creative has contracted with the town to create the marketing videos. Cleary said majority of the filming will take place in early June.

“We were going to do it earlier, but we want to make sure we got it as green as it can be and blue skies hopefully, as well,” Cleary said. “(…) We will spend the day up here filming our natural beauty, outdoor attractions, small businesses and other things.”

Videos can be submitted at townofmonterey@gmail.com.
