Meet The Candidates: Dale Wants To Increase Business

Livingston Board of Alderman Incumbent Rex Dale said he wants to increase the employment available in Livingston. Dale said his goal is to bring more businesses and families in and work with other counties to improve the Upper Cumberland.

He is competing next week for one of three seats available on the Board of Alderman.

“I have two girls,” Dale said. “A four year old and a one year old. For me, I would like our city to be a place that they want to come back to when they get to the age to make that decision. I want Livingston to be a place where they want to raise their family at.”

Dale said since he is in his 30’s, he brings a new voice and ideas to the table. Also, his position of Director of Pharmacy with Livingston Regional Hospital adds leadership experience to be an alderman. Dale wants to grow Livingston, but still keep the hometown feel.

“We lose a lot of our young new graduates and people who are going to start new families to areas that have more opportunities,” Dale said. “But I would like us to explore new ways to grow Livingston.”

Rex Dale was born and raised in Livingston. He currently serves as an Alderman. Dale replaced Alderman Bill Winningham when he asked Dale to finish his alderman term in 2019.

Dale will compete against incumbent Ken Dodson, John R. Clough and Josh Deck in Livingston’s Municipal Election. Elections will be held Wednesday at the Chamber of Commerce.
